Client Services
Arbutus Financial Services Ltd.
Susie brings years of experience in customer service, office management and marketing with her as one of the newer additions to the Arbutus Financial family. She has worked for non-profit organizations, universities, start–ups, unions and sporting facilities, which have shaped her into a dynamic, approachable and client-focused individual. Susie also has a part-time gig, as front-of-house staff, at the Vancouver Civic Theatres, including the iconic Orpheum Theatre.
Susie grew up in rural Claremont, Ontario before moving to Whitby where she attended Trafalgar Castle School (a real castle!). She graduated from Queen’s University with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, where she met her husband, Dave, as members of the varsity x-country and track and field teams.
As an Ontario transplant, Susie began her life in the west, in Calgary, where she lived for 10 years (working at the Olympic speed skating Oval) before an expat opportunity took her and her young family to Stavanger, Norway. She was delighted when her husband accepted a position in beautiful Vancouver in 2004, and has been in awe of the breathtaking landscape that she calls home, ever since. Susie’s passion is running, although she loves all activities outdoors, particularly sun-worshipping! Always with camera in hand, Susie can’t help herself from capturing any experience! On weekends you may find her at live concerts or on the dancefloor. Travelling is always on the agenda, with Maui as #1, although, Costa Rica was an unforgettable experience.
Mom to three daughters; Maia, Sofia, and Greta, Susie spent many years as a chair and involved parent on various school and extra-curricular committees and shuttling all three to dance competitions. These days, Susie connects with her girls by trying to keep up with the latest GenZ terms, discovering the outdoors together, sharing cat memes and the occasional roller rink dates. Smudgie and Piper, the family cats, joined the family six years ago and have been filling up the phone memory since! Their family retreats to Pender Island for one week every summer for dedicated family time and ocean sunsets.
