I watch TED talks daily to increase my awareness of what is taking place in technology, education and design fields around the world. I find TED lectures and presentations broaden my perspective and keep me open to new ideas, whether I agree with them or not. It also provides a break from the financial services focus of the majority of my reading.
Recently, I watched a fascinating TED talk about blockchain, the decentralized ledger for digital currency. Innovators such as Richard Branson believe this could bring about an “economic revolution“, particularly in developing countries. Major banks are already looking at using the technology for their own global transactions.
I hope after listening to Don Tapscott you will have a better understanding of what blockchain technology is and how it could revolutionize the banking world and the way all of us do business. At the very least, I hope it makes you think.
