Financial Planner and Retirement Specialist, Arbutus Financial Services
Vancouver and Vancouver Island
As an accomplished financial planner and retirement specialist, Stephanie has been assisting clients since 2006. We are fortunate to have her expertise and strong interpersonal skills at Arbutus Financial Services, where she assists clients in navigating their financial futures. Stephanie earned designations as a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) in 2017 and a Registered Retirement Consultant (RRC®) in 2010. Additionally, she obtained her IIROC investment license in 2010 and completed the Canadian Investment Funds Course (CIFC) in 2006.
An interest in finance began early for Stephanie when she balanced her job as a bank teller, as it was the only job with weekend and evening hours, with her commitment to education. Her interests then led to starting her own construction business with a partner and moving across Canada and the US to build the business. She moved to BC in 1994 and married in 2002. This led to a return to finance, working at a major Canadian bank for many years.
What sets Stephanie apart is her blend of professional experiences as both a financial planner and a business owner—a rare combination in her field. Her unique approach helps to ensure that her clients remain actively engaged throughout their financial and retirement planning journeys. Stephanie is committed to helping her clients craft financial plans expertly designed to meet their needs and aspirations.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Stephanie actively participates in fundraising initiatives for the Salvation Army and BC Children’s Hospital. She volunteers her time for the Run for the Cure and currently serves as the Treasurer on the Schooner Cove Yacht Club (SCYC) Board of Directors.
Stephanie and her husband, Jeff, call the Nanaimo area their home, where they enjoy hiking, riding, and boating. They have three adult children Kyle, Tanner and Paris.
